Individual Counseling and Coaching

Meeting you one on one in a safe, warm, and non-judgmental setting where you are free to be. Accepted. Loved. Isaiah 43:4 says you are "precious and honored" in God's sight, so we aim to honor you as He does, knowing that no sin, no mistake, and no pain is beyond His healing and merciful touch.  Think you've blown it?  Messed up too badly?  Not possible.   Nothing you've ever done could make God love you less or keep me from inviting you in for a cup of jo and good conversation.  You're always welcome here.  

Group Counseling and Coaching

In Matthew 18:20, Jesus says "where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am among them." Because Jesus Himself advocates for group gatherings, we believe in the power of healing through the fellowship of small gatherings. The bravery and courage it takes to be vulnerable and truly seen by others is often the vehicle through which transformation and growth come.  

Couples Counseling and Coaching Plus Wedding Officiation

Sometimes an individual's deepest emotional need is to be helped within the context of the couples unit. Dr. Flores provides pre-marital counseling, marriage counseling, and wedding officiation for those seeking to repair brokenness within the unit or start a new journey as husband as wife. Jeremiah 29:5-6 says "Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease." The family unit is important to God and it's important to us to lead you as He leads. Whether you're seeking counseling for a  new wedding, marital issue for an existing union, or parent/child issue, or something else, we are here to see you through.

Training and Development

In our Consultation Department, we work with large and small businesses in the mental health field by ensuring their staff are appropriately trained in the work they do.  We provide guidance on various EBP's, field safety, professional boundaries, healthy conflict resolutions, crisis interventions, and more.  While some trainings, such as field safety, we conduct ourselves, other trainings we connect your agency to the appropriate source, such as LA County Department of Mental Health.

If your company has ever been in a contractual arrangement with a county or state agency, then you know how challenging contractual implementation, execution, and compliance can be.  We come in to help you succeed in your contractual endeavors by coming alongside of you from inception to execution and maintenance.

Staff Wellness Benefits

How well are your employees doing in the work with which you've entrusted them?  Are they satisfied with the work or are they approaching burnout? In the mental health field, things like vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, emotional over-exertion, and burnout are real problems, but our agency's own Dr. Heather Flores will partner with your business to provide staff wellness benefits.  While many companies now offer their staff EAP Benefits that include up to a certain number of free mental health counseling (usually 10-15), 805 Counseling and Consulting offers these services to your staff for the entire duration of their employment with you. In other words, there is no cap to the number of sessions your staff can schedule and your employees are given direct access to Dr. Flores during their own personal times of crisis, conflict, or burnout.

CHRISTIAN COUNSELING & STATE-LICENSURE: At 805 Counseling and Consulting, LLC we do not diagnose or "treat" any mental health issue or problem, and should such a need arise, we will refer out to licensed practitioners. We lead, guide, and coach according to biblical doctrine. We provide faith-based counseling and life coaching, specifically Christian, to clients who are paired with counselors who may or may not hold mental health license(s) in one or more states. As providers of religious based counseling, the services we provide require no government licensure at the state or federal level. Religious based counseling is not regulated by the government by virtue of the free exercise clause of the first amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Although not required for providing religious-based counseling, 805 Counseling & Consulting, LLC believes the education and experience standards for professional licensure are valuable benchmarks for the training of counselors and life coaches. Thus, our internal screening process is structured to recruit and hire only staff who distinguish themselves as spiritually, emotionally, and psychologically set apart in both experience and training. We also encourage and assist our counselors in pursuit of licensure in the states they physically reside.
